EV giant Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) has started hiring for the start of production of its Cybercab vehicle aimed at autonomous driving, according to job listings on its website.
What Happened: The Tesla website shows 6 job listings in the manufacturing category for the Cybercab. The company is looking to hire maintenance technicians, a tool and die specialist, a launch equipment engineer, and a process engineer. All the jobs are based out of Austin, Texas.
Tesla unveiled a<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/10/41284847/tesla-reveals-two-seater-cybercab-that-drives-itself" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">&nbsp;Cybercab with no steering wheels or pedals</a>&nbsp;in October at an event in Los Angeles. The two-seat vehicle is meant for autonomous driving alone and is slated to start production in 2026 and join the company's <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/02/43620349/tesla-still-on-track-to-launch-autonomous-ride-hailing-in-austin-by-june-says-elon-musk">robotaxi fleet</a>, which, until then, will be composed of the company's Model 3 and Y vehicles.
Why It Matters: The Cybercab is an integral part of Tesla CEO Elon Musk&#8217;s push towards autonomous driving. The CEO is optimistic that the company&#8217;s full self-driving (FSD) driver assistance technology will enable autonomous driving in time. The software is currently in the development phase and requires active driver supervision.
Musk in October said that the Cybercab will not include a charging plug – it will instead use inductive charging. The vehicle, he then said, will be priced under $30,000. 
Tesla in January also said that preparations are underway across its existing factories for the launch of new products including more affordable models. The start of production of new models is slated for the first half of 2025.

Kosmos Energy Q1 Guidance: Expects Production Of 62,000–66,000 Boe Per Day, Operating Expenses Of $23–$25 Per Boe, And Capital Expenditures Of $100M–$120M

Kosmos Energy (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/KOS#NYSE">KOS</a>) reported quarterly losses of $(0.03) per share which missed the analyst consensus estimate of $0.01 by 400 percent. This is a 109.68 percent decrease over earnings of $0.31 per share from the same period last year. The company reported quarterly sales of $397.56 million which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $387.35 million by 2.64 percent. This is a 21.71 percent decrease over sales of $507.81 million the same period last year.

A prolonged period of unusually low junk bond spreads could be setting the stage for a dramatic market reversal, according to this economist, who sees eerie similarities to the pre-crisis conditions of May 2007.
What Happened: The credit spreads of high-yield or junk corporate bonds have remained below 3% for over 100 days, highlights the macro strategist at Crescat Capital, Otavio Costa in an X post.
According to Costa, a trend like this was observed in May 2007 which followed a spike in volatility and shattered market complacency, triggering a sharp widening of spreads. He draws a parallel between this incident to the current situation.

Why It Matters: A junk or a high-yield corporate bond is a debt instrument that has a below-investment-grade credit rating, whereas a credit spread is the difference between the yield on the junk bond and the yield on a comparable U.S. Treasury bond. The spread represents the extra return of the high-yield bond above the Treasury bond.
A lower credit spread indicates that a bond is considerably safer and investors are more confident in the ability of a company to repay its debts. A prolonged period of lower spreads could signal excessive risk-taking by investors, as they may become complacent about potential risks.
The graph shared by Costa highlights Bloomberg U.S. Corporate High Yield Average Options-Adjusted Spreads, which have been below 3% for 100 straight days. According to him, this is a warning signal of upcoming volatility.
Price Action: As of Feb. 21, the 10-year Treasury yield stood at 4.43%, while the two-year yield was at 4.20%. Also, the SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPY#NYSE">SPY</a>) and Invesco QQQ Trust ETF (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/QQQ#NASDAQ">QQQ</a>), which track the S&amp;P 500 index and Nasdaq 100 index, respectively, fell on Friday. SPY declined 1.71% to $599.94, and QQQ plunged 2.07% to $526.12, according to <a href="https://pro.benzinga.com/dashboard">Benzinga Pro</a> data.
