WisdomTree Bloomberg Floating Rate Treasury Fund

The Fund employs a passive management or indexing investment approach designed to track the performance of the Bloomberg U.S. Treasury Floating Rate Bond Index (the Index). The Fund generally uses a representative sampling strategy to achieve its investment objective, meaning it generally will invest in a sample of the securities in the Index whose risk, return and other characteristics resemble the risk, return and other characteristics of the Index as a whole. Under normal circumstances, at least 80 percent of the Funds total assets (exclusive of collateral held from securities lending) will be invested in the constituent securities of the Index and investments that have economic characteristics that are substantially identical to the economic characteristics of such constituent securities.

Legendary Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>) co-founder Steve Jobs is credited for his visionary leadership and for revolutionizing entire product categories, ranging from smartphones to tablets and music.
Jobs knew what a MacBook should look like in 1983. While it took the company 25 years to realize Jobs&#8217; vision, Apple stock is now soaring to record highs.
Optimistic Analysts: Analysts at JPMorgan are upbeat about Cupertino's prospects, giving the Apple stock an overweight rating and a price target of $265, implying an upside of over 2%.
"We see upside in several aspects of the business as well as financials that remain underappreciated by investors, namely the transformation of the company to Services, growth in the installed base, technology leadership, and optionality around capital deployment," said JPMorgan analyst Samik Chatterjee <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2024/12/26/apple-soars-to-a-record-where-jpmorgan-thinks-its-headed-in-2025.html">to</a> CNBC.

Over the past month, Apple stock has gained over 10%, while year-to-date, it is up by over 39%, according to <a href="https://pro.benzinga.com/dashboard">Benzinga Pro data</a>.
What Jobs Said In 1983: Jobs, well known for not just his leadership but also some great speeches, outlined his vision for a notebook.
"Apple strategy is really simple. What we want to do is we want to put an incredibly great computer in a book that you can carry around with you that you can learn how to use in 20 minutes."
"We don't know how to do that. It's impossible technically. So we had three options. One was to do nothing. The second one was to put a piece of garbage computer in a book. And we can do that, but our competitors are doing that, so we don't need to do that," said Jobs.
"The third option was to design the computer that we want to put into the book eventually, even though we can't put into the book now. And right now it fits into a bread box and it's $10,000 and it's called Lisa."
While Lisa was Jobs' dreamchild, MacBook is what he was ultimately aiming for.
"The next thing we will do is we will find a way put it in a shoebox and sell it for like $2,500 and that will be the next step. And finally we'll find a way to get it in a book and sell it for under $1,000."

Based on the average price target of $286 between Wedbush, Morgan Stanley, and Needham, there&#8217;s an implied 10.51% upside for AAPL stock.

Cathie Wood, a well-known U.S. technology investor, is calling for clear tax policies from&nbsp;Donald Trump&#8216;s incoming administration.
What Happened: Wood proposes that tax cuts be retroactively applied from Jan. 1, to boost economic growth and provide policy certainty, Reuters reported on Friday.
&#8220;I see them saying, okay, we&#8217;re going to cut taxes but we will make them retroactive to Jan. 1, 2025. That would be very helpful, I think, in terms of providing certainty for the markets,&#8221; Wood said.
&#8220;If they don&#8217;t, you&#8217;re going to get companies and individuals perhaps holding back. &#8230; I&#8217;m trying to communicate that pretty regularly to anyone who will listen.&#8221;
Wood&#8217;s primary fund, ARK Innovation ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ARKK#NYSE">ARKK</a>), has experienced a 17% increase following Trump&#8217;s electoral win, which is expected to bring about advantageous policy shifts. Ark Invest's Cathie Wood Urges Trump's Incoming Administration To Implement Retroactive Tax Cuts For Economic Boost From January 1

Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) and Ethereum (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/money/best-spot-bitcoin-etfs">spot exchange-traded funds</a> (ETFs) experienced a surge of inflows on Dec. 26, marking a reversal from four consecutive days of net outflows.
What Happened: Bitcoin spot ETFs collectively saw a net inflow of $475 million, with Fidelity's (CBOE: FBTC) leading the charge, securing $254 million, according to <a href="https://sosovalue.com/assets/etf/us-btc-spot">data</a>.
Similarly, Ethereum ETFs recorded a total net inflow of $117 million, with Fidelity&#8216;s (CBOE: FETH) ETF receiving $82.9 million and BlackRock&#8216;s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ETHA#NASDAQ">ETHA</a>) ETF recording $28.1 million.
The turn of events followed a tumultuous week of net outflows, marking a renewed interest in these digital assets from investors.
&#8220;As we conclude the year 2024 on a remarkable note in the crypto space, we are pleased to see that this year has been transformative for the industry as a whole,&#8221; said Vishal Sacheendran, Head of Regional Markets at Binance. 
He added that 2024 showed significant growth and institutional interest, further emboldened by the legalization of spot Bitcoin ETFs in the United States, highlighting the industry&#8217;s resilience.

Arthur Azizov, CEO at B2BINPAY, highlighted Bitcoin&#8217;s dominance for much of the market rally. 
"The fact that Bitcoin reached $100,000 was a major psychological milestone for many, adding another layer of significance to this eventful year,&#8221; Azizov stated, also noting the potential for a shift in dominance towards Ethereum and other altcoins.

GameStop Shares Dip In Friday's Premarket After Surging Nearly 6% In Last Session, Fueled By Roaring Kitty's 'Christmas Present'

Planemaker Boeing Co (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BA#NYSE">BA</a>) is reportedly witnessing an increased number of its engineers leaving for space companies. 
What Happened: The average tenure of a Boeing engineer has dropped to 12.6 years from 16.4 years over the last decade, the Financial Times <a href="https://www.ft.com/content/5dea45ef-25c7-4b5c-ad8a-9984ec66bf53">reported</a>, citing data from the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace, a union representing 12,000 Boeing engineers. As per union data, the tenure is shortening in every age bracket.
The departure of engineering talent could make it harder for the company to launch a new plane, the report noted, while adding that the struggling plane maker is serving as a good place for space companies like SpaceX and Blue Origin to poach talent from.
While rival space companies continue to aim big and develop new vehicles, Boeing is <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/tech/24/12/42377203/boeing-chief-lobbyist-ziad-ojakli-leaves-troubled-planemaker-report">yet to announce a new plane</a>, FT noted. 
"Boeing is an airplane company and at the right time in the future, we need to develop a new airplane. But we have a lot of work to do before then," Ortberg said during the company&#8217;s third-quarter earnings call.
Boeing did not immediately respond to <a href="http://pro.benzinga.com/dashboard">Benzinga&#8217;s</a> request for comment.
Why It Matters: Boeing has been struggling since the start of the year when a door panel flew off an Alaska Airlines jet manufactured by the company. 
Later in the year, technical issues were identified with the Starliner spacecraft manufactured by the company, causing space agency NASA to opt out of bringing back the two astronauts who flew on Starliner to the International Space Station on the same spacecraft. The astronauts are now slated to return to Earth on a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft no earlier than March. 
Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg said in October that Boeing would downsize its workforce by 10%. The layoff is <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/10/41301576/boeing-announces-10-workforce-reduction-amidst-ongoing-struggles-impacting-nearly-17k-employees">expected to impact nearly 17,000 jobs</a>. Ortberg then said that the layoffs are necessary to align with Boeing's financial reality and future recovery plans.
Price Action: Boeing shares closed up 0.6% at $180.38 on Thursday. The stock is down 28.4% year-to-date, according to data from Benzinga Pro. 
Boeing has a consensus price target of $197.85 based on the ratings of 23 analysts tracked by Benzinga. The analysts have a consensus &#8220;buy&#8221; rating on the stock.

(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BGNE#NASDAQ">BGNE</a>, HKEX: 06160, SSE: 688235))), a global oncology company that intends to change its name to BeOne Medicines Ltd., today announced the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved TEVIMBRA&#xAE; (tislelizumab-jsgr), in combination with platinum and fluoropyrimidine-based chemotherapy, for the first-line treatment of unresectable or metastatic HER2-negative gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma (G/GEJ) in adults whose tumors express PD-L1 (≥1).
"Today's FDA approval of TEVIMBRA for the treatment of gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancers in PD-L1 positive adult patients marks a significant step forward in our mission to deliver transformative therapies to patients with cancer," said Mark Lanasa, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Medical Officer, Solid Tumors at BeiGene. "This is the second U.S. approval for TEVIMBRA this year, underscoring its potential to address critical needs in oncology. We remain deeply grateful to the patients, clinicians, and researchers whose commitment and courage have made this progress possible—and we look forward to building on this momentum in 2025."
The additional indication for first-line G/GEJ cancers is based on results from BeiGene's RATIONALE-305 (<a href="https://cts.businesswire.com/ct/CT?id=smartlink&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fclinicaltrials.gov%2Fstudy%2FNCT03777657&amp;esheet=54171021&amp;newsitemid=20241227403101&amp;lan=en-US&amp;anchor=NCT03777657&amp;index=1&amp;md5=30e9cd81ec8a563b14e02fe5d32103f4">NCT03777657</a>), a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, global Phase 3 trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of TEVIMBRA in combination with chemotherapy as a first-line treatment for adult patients with advanced unresectable or metastatic G/GEJ cancer. The study met its primary endpoint and demonstrated a statistically significant and clinically meaningful overall survival (OS) benefit with a median OS of 15.0 months for patients treated with TEVIMBRA in combination with the investigator's choice of chemotherapy compared to 12.9 months for patients treated with placebo plus chemotherapy (n=997; HR: 0.80 [95% CI: 0.70, 0.92]; P=0.0011), resulting in a 20% reduction in the risk of death.
The pooled safety data in the application included 1,972 patients who received TEVIMBRA monotherapy in two randomized open-label, active-controlled studies (RATIONALE-302, BGB-A317-303) and five open-label, single-arm studies (BGB-A317-208, BGB-A317-204, BGB-A317-203, BGB-A317-102, BGB A317_Study_001), which enrolled 307 patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and 1,665 patients with advanced or recurrent tumors. The most common Grade 3 or 4 adverse reactions for TEVIMBRA given in combination with chemotherapy were neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia, fatigue, hypokalemia, hyponatremia, pneumonia, decreased appetite, rash, lymphopenia, alanine aminotransferase increased, aspartate aminotransferase increased, diarrhea, pneumonitis, and hepatitis.
TEVIMBRA is also approved in the U.S. as monotherapy for the treatment of adult patients with unresectable or metastatic esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) after prior systemic chemotherapy that did not include a PD-(L)1 inhibitor. An additional Biologics License Application (BLA) is under review at the FDA for the first-line treatment of adult patients with locally advanced unresectable or metastatic ESCC.

This is a U-turn from the earlier opinion held by the &ldquo;Principles&rdquo; author. In May 2022, Dalio indicated he did not believe in cash. &quot;Of course, cash is still trash,&quot; he said. &quot;[Do] you know how fast you&#39;re losing buying power?&quot; the investor <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/ray-dalio-cash-is-still-trash-stocks-worse-fed-inflation-2022-5">said </a>in an interview with CNBC at the World Economic Forum, according to a report by Markets Insider.

Benzinga&#39;s Take: The U.S. Fed has been aggressively hiking its policy rates this year to counter inflation. Since interest rates are higher, the yields on short-term treasury bills currently trend close to 3.9%. At a time when all assets including stocks, commodities and&nbsp;bonds are getting hammered, holding cash or investing in risk-free treasury bills may not be such a bad idea.

Price Action: The iShares Treasury Floating Rate Bond ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TFLO#NYSE">TFLO</a>) has gained 0.32% since the beginning of 2022 while the WisdomTree Floating Rate Treasury Fund (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/USFR#NYSE">USFR</a>) has gained 0.22% in the same period.

Ray Dalio No Longer Believes Cash Is Trash: 'When Facts Change, I Change My Mind'

Some fixed income investors are fretting about the idea of a rate hike by the Federal Reserve, perhaps as soon as later this month. However, there are some exchange-traded funds that offer investors exposure to corners of the bond world that can be durable in the face of rising rates.
Additionally, speculation is increasing that the Federal Reserve may not be able to raise interest rates as many times this year as previously believed. Should higher rate momentum be renewed, floating rate notes are an asset class worth revisiting.
Floating rate notes have a so-called reset period with interest rates tied to a benchmark, such as the Fed funds, LIBOR, prime rate or U.S. Treasury bill rate, according to <a href="http://www.etftrends.com/2015/12/charting-a-course-for-floating-rate-bond-etfs/">ETF Trends</a>.
<h3>A Floating Rate ETF To Consider</h3>
The WisdomTree Bloomberg Floating Rate Treasury Fund (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/USFR#NYSE">USFR</a>), which debuted three years ago, is one avenue investors can use for exposure to floating rate bonds. USFR follows the Bloomberg U.S. Treasury Floating Rate Bond Index.
&ldquo;Investors looking to mitigate potential interest rate exposure may also wish to examine the benefit of <a href="https://www.wisdomtree.com/blog/glossary#Floating%20Rate%20Treasury%20Not">floating rate Treasury notes (FRNs)</a>. Given the outlook for the Fed Funds Rate in 2017, some &ldquo;Fed protection&rdquo; seems warranted,&quot; <a href="http://www.wisdomtree.com/blog/2017-03-01/in-like-a-lion">WisdomTree said in a recent note</a>.
&quot;Against this backdrop, we feel that by utilizing a floating rate product such as the <a href="https://www.wisdomtree.com/etfs/fixed-income/usfr">WisdomTree Bloomberg Floating Rate Treasury Fund (USFR)</a>, investors may be better able to insulate their bond portfolio as compared to a more traditional short-duration and/or inflation-protected fixed income investment.&quot;
USFR&#39;s 30-day SEC yield is just under .5 percent, which is the rub investors take on with floating rates: Trading yield for protection from higher interest rates. Of course, USFR is an ultra-low duration ETF with an effective duration of just 0.02 years.
For investors considering bonds in today&#39;s environment, it&#39;s notable that floating rate notes have a legacy of success during eras of rising rates.
<h3>An Asset Class Deserving A Second Look</h3>
&ldquo;While it is a relatively new asset class, floating rate Treasury notes have had some proven success during prior <a href="https://www.wisdomtree.com/blog/glossary#Rate%20Hike">rate hike</a> environments, and investors should look to use them as alternatives to traditional short-term Treasuries,&quot; <a href="http://www.wisdomtree.com/blog/2017-01-31/why-you-should-take-a-look-at-floating-rate-treasury-notes">WisdomTree said</a>, adding that FRNs are 2-year notes which reset weekly to the rate of the newly auctioned 13-week bill.
&quot;Put simply, these bonds have a one-week duration, because any risk of missed opportunity of investing in higher-yielding bonds is mitigated by the weekly rate reset.&quot;

Led by U.S. government bond funds, fixed income exchange traded funds are receiving plenty of attention (and new assets) this year. A big reason is declining Treasury yields, which are bolstering the allure of income plays as capital appreciation destinations.

	Additionally, speculation is increasing that the Federal Reserve may not be able to raise interest rates as many times this year as previously believed. Should higher rate momentum be renewed, floating rate notes are an asset class worth revisiting.

	Floating rate notes have a so-called reset period with interest rates tied to a benchmark, such as the Fed funds, LIBOR, prime rate or U.S. Treasury bill rate, according to <a href="http://www.etftrends.com/2015/12/charting-a-course-for-floating-rate-bond-etfs/">ETF Trends</a>.&nbsp;

	&nbsp;

	The WisdomTree Bloomberg Floating Rate Treasury Fund (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/usfr#NYSE">USFR</a>), which debuted two years ago, is one avenue investors can use for exposure to floating rate bonds. USFR follows the Bloomberg U.S. Treasury Floating Rate Bond Index.

	Due to its low duration (just 0.02 years), USFR&#39;s yield is not jaw-dropping (just 0.29 percent on a 30-day basis), but that is the trade-off investors must deal when considering bond ETFs that minimize interest rate risk. USFR and floating rate notes have other advantages.

	&nbsp;

	&ldquo;Many investors employ a common strategy of rolling their Treasury Bill holdings every quarter. Investing in USFRNs, enables the investor to avoid the cost of eight purchases of T-bills over a two-year period. Not only does the investor reduce transaction costs, but USFRNs typically offer a spread over three-month Treasury Bills as compensation for holding the investment longer,&rdquo; said WisdomTree<a href="http://www.wisdomtree.com/blog/index.php/as-the-fed-continues-to-hike-whats-your-best-bet-for-short-term-fixed-income/"> in a recent note</a>.&nbsp;

	&nbsp;

	Additionally, floating rate notes are attractive relative to one- to three-month and one- to 12-month Treasury Bills.

	&nbsp;

	&ldquo;Compared to one- to three-month and one- to 12-month Treasury Bills, U.S. floating rate notes have similar credit quality, lower interest rate risk and the same to higher yield. Since the Fed is more likely to increase interest rates than to decrease them, investors should consider using U.S. floating rate notes as part of their short-term bond or cash allocations,&rdquo; adds WisdomTree.

	All of USFR&#39;s holdings are rated AA. The ETF charges 0.15 percent per year, or $15 for each $10,000 invested.
