What Happened: In an X post, Conor Grogan, a director at&nbsp;Coinbase, said that he had found nearly 430 BTC across multiple wallets linked to Ulbricht. These wallets were not seized by the U.S. government and have remained untouched for over 13 years.

Social media followers of the president, first lady and vice president were surprised to learn that they now follow people they may not have wanted to after Donald Trump was inaugurated as<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/entertainment/25/01/43139381/how-many-people-watched-donald-trumps-2025-inauguration-spoiler-less-than-biden-four-years-ago"> president on Monday.</a>
What Happened: Users of Instagram and Facebook, which are owned by Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/META#NASDAQ">META</a>), have experienced several recent changes including CEO Mark Zuckerberg announcing the end of <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/01/42851889/meta-ditches-fact-checking-for-community-notes-zuckerberg-says-opportunity-to-restore-free-expression">content moderation teams</a>.

Meta contends they have done nothing wrong and this is the practice done in past presidential transitions. The official accounts for @potus, @vp and @flotus have been transferred over to the new people in those roles, while keeping the same followers and the content being wiped clean and archived to other accounts.
"People were not made to automatically follow any of the official Facebook or Instagram accounts for the president, vice president or first lady," Meta spokesperson Andy Stone <a href="https://www.threads.net/@andymstone/post/DFImiJsPblY">said </a>in a post on Threads. "Those accounts are managed by the White House so with a new administration, the content on those Pages changes."
Stone said the same changes took place when Biden took over as president for Trump in 2021. One potential difference is the ability to unfollow these particular accounts.
"It may take some time for follow and unfollow requests to go through as these accounts change hands," Stone added.
Users can follow and unfollow other accounts without any problem as of time of writing of this article.

While the president has some executive tools, like the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) and sections of the Trade Acts of 1930 and 1974, these measures are subject to legal constraints per law firm Buchanan Ingersoll &amp; Rooney. For instance:

<li>Although IEEPA permits tariffs in times of national emergency, it is unprecedented to use it to apply tariffs all at once and doing so would probably be challenged in court.</li>
<li>Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974 permits a temporary 15% import surcharge to address balance-of-payment deficits, but it is limited in scope and duration.</li>
<li>Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution grants Congress, not the president, the power to impose taxes and duties. While Trump could try to leverage a Republican majority, bypassing Congress altogether would be legally questionable.</li>
</ul>
Economists and trade experts question whether Trump will follow through with his tariff threats. Goldman Sachs economist <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/01/43103527/mexican-peso-canadian-dollar-slide-as-trump-threatens-25-tariffs-expert-eyes-price-hikes-on-typical-us-breakfast">Alec Phillips noted</a> that similar proposals in Trump's first term often fizzled out before implementation.&nbsp;

"Despite Trump&#8217;s comments, we continue to believe the odds of a 25% tariff on Canada and Mexico are low at 20%. We are lowering our odds of a universal tariff this year to 25%," Phillips said in a note.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How Could Tariffs Impact Neighboring States?</h2>
Trump&#8217;s proposal may greatly impact states in the United States that rely on commerce with Canada and Mexico. Supply chain interruptions could occur in border areas like Texas, California and Michigan, which depend on imports for sectors like the automobile industry.&nbsp;
Similarly, agricultural states such as Iowa, which export heavily to Mexico, might face retaliatory tariffs that harm farmers. Everyday goods, including groceries and beverages, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/startups/24/12/42344194/these-products-will-likely-see-price-hikes-due-to-trumps-tariffs-on-canada-and-mexico-2">could become more expensive</a>, exacerbating inflation.&nbsp;
Furthermore, businesses involved in cross-border commerce may face difficulties due to rising production costs, which could lead to job losses in the retail, industrial and agricultural sectors.

This is a 47.89 percent decrease over earnings of $2.61 per share from the same period last year. The company reported quarterly sales of $3.87 billion which missed the analyst consensus estimate of $3.95 billion by 2.07 percent. This is a 8.53 percent decrease over sales of $4.23 billion the same period last year.

As two people deeply impacted by cannabis, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/mike-tyson">Mike Tyson</a> and <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/weldon-angelos">Weldon Angelos</a>, a justice reform advocate, applauded President Donald Trump's recent commitment to cannabis reforms, in an opinion piece <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/mike-tyson-weldon-angelos-hope-trump-fight-awful-marijuana-laws-biden-wouldnt-bother">published</a> by Fox News. 
These include rescheduling cannabis, ensuring banking access for cannabis businesses and granting clemency to those serving federal sentences for marijuana offenses.
Angelos criticized the inadequacy of President Joe Biden's efforts. Despite <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cannabis/22/10/29175510/breaking-biden-announces-pardons-for-all-federal-marijuana-possession-convictions">numerous promises</a> to decriminalize marijuana and expunge records, Biden's widely publicized <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cannabis/23/12/36361671/biden-pardons-thousands-convicted-of-cannabis-possession-calls-on-governors-to-do-the-same">misdemeanor pardons</a> "freed no one, restored no civil rights, and expunged no records," Angelos wrote.
Even Biden's <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cannabis/25/01/43054504/biden-commutes-sentences-of-nearly-2500-convicted-of-non-violent-drug-offenses-no-mention-of-cannabis-prisoners">last-minute clemency wave</a> largely bypassed marijuana offenders, with only a handful of cases benefiting from reforms. "This failure to prioritize marijuana clemency is bewildering," says Angelos. "Of all those impacted by harsh drug policies, individuals serving time for marijuana-related crimes are among the most deserving of relief."
Cannabis's continued classification as a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/controlled-substances-act">Schedule I drug </a>alongside heroin exacerbates the issue. This outdated designation prevents legitimate cannabis businesses from accessing banking services, forcing them to operate in cash, which invites crime and hampers growth. "Democrats had two years of controlling Congress and the presidency but failed to deliver meaningful cannabis reform," Angelos said.
Tyson echoes Angelos's concerns, underscoring cannabis's transformative potential. As the founder of <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/tyson-2-0">TYSON 2.0</a>, a global cannabis brand, Tyson has long viewed the industry as a platform for wellness, innovation and entrepreneurship. Trump's Cannabis Reform: Mike Tyson, Weldon Angelos Say President Can Get It Done

Strong winds have caused another wildfire in Los Angeles County following the devastation wrought by <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/25/01/43066552/celebrity-realtor-josh-altman-says-half-of-palisades-residents-wont-move-back-after-fire">fires in Pacific Palisades</a> and Altadena.
What Happened: The Hughes Fire broke out midday Wednesday during a period of high winds in the area. The fire is concentrated in Castaic, a city of around 19,000 <a href="https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/fact/table/castaiccdpcalifornia/PST045224">residents</a> near the northernmost boundary of Los Angeles County.
Calfire <a href="https://www.fire.ca.gov/incidents/2025/1/22/hughes-fire/updates/685154eb-f60a-4d8f-b8df-0d59dbf1899f">estimates</a> the fire to have burned over 5,000 acres as of 1:03 p.m. PST with none of the fire contained. The Palisades fire burned over 23,000 acres <a href="https://www.latimes.com/wildfires-map/">according</a> to the Los Angeles Times.
The fire&#8217;s epicenter is roughly 10 miles north of Santa Clarita, a city of <a href="https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/fact/table/santaclaritacitycalifornia/PST045223">over</a> 224,000 residents, <a href="https://www.google.com/maps/@34.4567708,-118.580079,12.51z/data=!5m1!1e8?hl=en-US&amp;entry=ttu&amp;g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDEyMC4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D">according</a> to Google Maps.
Evacuations were <a href="https://www.fire.ca.gov/incidents/2025/1/22/hughes-fire">ordered</a> near Castaic and other rural areas surrounding the fire. Authorities issued warnings for the nearby hamlets Castaic Junction, Sandberg and Three Points. There are thus far no warnings for Santa Clarita.
Several nearby roads were closed due to smoke emanating from the fire, CBS reported.
Two Stocks To Watch: Six Flags Entertainment Corp (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FUN#NYSE">FUN</a>) operates its Six Flags Magic Mountain Valencia location in the area. The park <a href="https://www.scvedc.org/top-employers">employs</a> 3,000.
Edison International (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/EIX#NYSE">EIX</a>) is the parent company of Southern California Edison, which serves the Los Angeles County area. Wildfires can damage power lines, and utilities often face lawsuits if equipment is suspected to have caused the fire. The company&#8217;s exposure to previous fires led to a large market selloff.

New Fire Breaks Out In Los Angeles County

Illinois Tool Works Inc.&nbsp;(NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ITW#NYSE">ITW</a>) shares are trading lower after the company reported&nbsp;first-quarter FY24 revenue of $3.97 billion, missing the&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/04/g38516641/itw-reports-first-quarter-2024-results" rel="noreferrer noopener">consensus of $4.03 billion</a>.&nbsp;



Revenue declined 1% Y/Y as organic growth fell by 0.6%, with foreign currency translation impact reducing revenue by 0.4%.



GAAP EPS totaled $2.73, and Adjusted EPS totaled $2.44,&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/earnings" rel="noreferrer noopener">beating the consensus of $2.36.</a>



The operating income increased 16% Y/Y to $1.13 billion, and the operating margin came in at 28.4%, an increase of 420 bps Y/Y.



ITW&#8217;s operating cash flow was $589 million, and free cash flow was $494 million, with a conversion rate to net income of 68%.&nbsp;



During the quarter, the company repurchased $375 million worth of shares.



FY24 Guidance:&nbsp;Illinois Tool Works raised GAAP EPS&nbsp;forecast by $0.30&nbsp;to $10.30-<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/02/36896085/why-manufacturing-company-illinois-tool-works-shares-are-down-today" rel="noreferrer noopener">$10.70 (consensus: $10.14)</a>.



The company also increased its operating margin outlook by 50 basis points Y/Y to 26% to 27%, with enterprise initiatives expected to contribute&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/guidance" rel="noreferrer noopener">more than 100 basis points</a>.



Christopher A. O&#8217;Herlihy, President and Chief Executive Officer, said, &#8220;Looking ahead, we expect current levels of demand across our end markets and favorable year-over-year comparisons will translate to positive organic growth through the balance of the year.&#8221;



The company still projects revenue growth of 2% to&nbsp;4%&nbsp;and organic growth of 1% to&nbsp;3% based on current&nbsp;levels of demand&nbsp;and foreign exchange rates.

Price Action:&nbsp;ITW shares were down 1.5% at $245.45&nbsp;at the last check Tuesday.

Value stocks and exchange traded funds are on the mend, a theme that&#39;s garnering considerable attention.

Rightfully so.

Data from <a href="https://www.etfreplay.com/charts.aspx">ETF Replay</a> indicate that over the past 90 days, the S&amp;P 500 Value Index is higher by 5.9% compared to gains of 3.5% and 4.6%, respectively, for the S&amp;P 500 Growth Index and the S&amp;P 500.

A move like this has been a long time coming as value has lagged growth for more than a decade and often by sizable margins. On that note, almost overlooked is the fact that the S&amp;P 500 Value Index is topping the growth rival and the S&amp;P 500 itself over the past 12 months, albeit by modest margins.

&ldquo;Value stocks usually trade at lower prices relative to fundamental measures of value, like earnings and the book value of assets,&rdquo; <a href="https://www.etftrends.com/relative-value-channel/data-shows-growth-versus-value-stock-performance-may-be-shifting/">according to ETF Trends</a>. &ldquo;During periods of accelerating growth, asset categories including value, small-cap and cyclical stocks that exhibit high levels of business leverage and needed access to credit tend to outperform.&rdquo;

Here are three value ETFs for investors to consider as they look to participate in the factors&#39; renaissance.

American Century STOXX U.S. Quality Value ETF (VALQ)

The American Century STOXX U.S. Quality Value ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/VALQ#NYSE">VALQ</a>) follows the iSTOXX American Century USA Quality Value Index, which brings a quality overlay to the value approach.

VALQ &ldquo;evokes a combination of value and quality attributes in portfolio construction,&rdquo; said <a href="https://www.cfraresearch.com/">CFRA Research</a> Director of ETF &amp; Mutual Fund Research Todd Rosenbluth in a recent note.&rdquo; According to our research, five of VALQ&rsquo;s recent top-10 holdings have CFRA Buy or Strong Buy recommendations and seven of the ten have S&amp;P Quality Rankings of B+ or higher, highlighting their consistent dividend and earnings records in the past ten years.&rdquo;

VALQ, which debuted in January 2018, holds 240 stocks and is something of a departure from traditional value ETFs in that the combined to the financial services and energy sectors, often two cornerstones of value funds, is just about 12% in this American Century fund.

Due to part of VALQ&#39;s objective being to unearth sustainable income, the fund allocates about 36% of its combined weight to the high dividend consumer staples, real estate and utilities sectors.

Vanguard Value ETF (VTV)

Far more traditional than the aforementioned VALQ, the Vanguard Value ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/VTV#NYSE">VTV</a>) is the largest value ETF and one of the cheapest with an expense ratio of just 0.04% per year, or $4 on a $10,000 investment.

&ldquo;VTV has six of its top-10 holdings as CFRA Buys and Strong Buys and a similar number with B+ Quality Rankings,&rdquo; said Rosenbluth.

VTV holds 349 stocks with a median market value of $91.2 billion. Like many old guard value funds, VTV is heavily allocated to financial services stocks (24.2% of its weight). That allocation is sensible when considering that the sector is one that is legitimately heavily discounted relative to the broader market.

Alpha Architect Quant Value ETF (QVAL)

The Alpha Architect Quant Value ETF (CBOE: QVAL) can really shine when value is back in style as highlighted by a month-to-date gain of 11.34%. A concentrated portfolio of 40 to 50 stocks, QVAL&#39;s objective is to unearth deep value, high quality stocks with the latter being an important trait for those looking to avoid value traps.

QVAL &ldquo;uses operating-profits-to-enterprise-value to gauge value, but its concentration sets it apart. After screening out companies at risk of financial distress or manipulation, and settling on the highest-quality businesses in financial and operational strength, the exchange-traded fund is left with 45 stocks in a portfolio,&rdquo; <a href="https://www.barrons.com/articles/value-etfs-for-a-new-kind-of-value-stock-51556912664">according to Barron&#39;s</a>.

None of QVAL&#39;s 41 holdings exceed weights of 2.80% and the fund&#39;s financial services weight is low compared to traditional rivals. Conversely, the fund has large cyclical allocations, including industrial and consumer discretionary names.

There are dozens of exchange traded funds based on value strategies. One of the newest members of the field is the American Century STOXX U.S. Quality Value ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/VALQ#NYSE">VALQ</a>), which debuted in January.
VALQ tracks the iSTOXX American Century USA Quality Value Index. The benchmark screens the 900 largest domestic companies based on factors including income, quality and value.

	What Happened</h3>
VALQ&#39;s underlying index allocates from two other indexes: the iSTOXX American Century USA Value Index and the iSTOXX American Century USA Income Index.
&ldquo;The former scores stocks based on various quality and value measures. Stocks ranking in the bottom 20 percent of the universe or their supersector based on their composite quality/value scores are tossed out,&rdquo; <a href="http://www.morningstar.com/articles/868373/2-new-etfs-that-try-to-buy-wonderful-companies-at-.html">Morningstar said in a recent note</a>.
The remaining equities are screened by an optimizer, and roughly 200-300 stocks are left once VALQ&#39;s criteria are applied, Morningstar said.&nbsp;
&quot;The income index uses the same quality scores and a variety of dividend growth and sustainability metrics to choose stocks. After stocks are scored, they are run through an optimizer. The resulting portfolio will contain 75&ndash;100 stocks.&rdquo;
At its core, VALQ&#39;s index geared toward companies with sustainable income and sound fundamentals that trade at attractive valuations.&nbsp;

	Why It&#39;s Important</h3>
For much of the current U.S. bull market, value has been trailing growth and momentum, but that has not stopped some market observers from calling for the value factor&#39;s resurgence.
Many traditional value funds are heavily allocated to the energy or financial services sectors or both. In VALQ&#39;s case, the fund devotes just 15 percent of its combined weight to those sectors. VALQ&#39;s 20-percent technology weight &mdash; its largest sector exposure &mdash; is refreshing among value ETFs. Consumer discretionary and health care stocks combine for 27 percent of the fund&#39;s roster.
VALQ tilts toward smaller, inexpensive companies.
&ldquo;At present, it favors smaller, less-expensive stocks. As market condi&shy;tions evolve, there will be times when it will tilt toward larger, higher-quality stocks,&quot; according to Morningstar.&nbsp;

	What&#39;s Next</h3>
Obviously, VALQ is positioned for a return to the value factor, but with the FAANG stocks continuing to climb, value&#39;s rebound could be on hold. The fund&#39;s emphasis on reliable dividend payers could make it an attractive alternative for investors who are seeking added income.&nbsp;
VALQ charges 0.29 percent per year, or $29 on a $10,000 investment.
