The conversation started when Peter Baker, chief White House Correspondent for The New York Times and MSNBC analyst, shared an Axios article that highlighted how more jobs have been created under Biden than during the full terms of Trump, Obama or Bush 43.
In response, journalist Kara Swisher said, &#8220;It is truly about who tells a better story – or really a story people want to hear and makes them see what they believe rather than believe what they see.&#8221;
Cuban replied, &#8220;The reality is that Salesmanship is the differentiation between the two parties. The Dems couldn&#8217;t sell dollar bills for 50c. Billionaire Stanley Druckenmiller: Selling This AI Stock Was a 'Big Mistake'

President-elect Donald Trump said Saturday that he may provide a 90-day extension to ByteDance-owned TikTok to delay or prevent a ban in the U.S.

A new Benzinga reader poll predicts which cryptocurrency could have the best return early in Trump's presidency.
What Happened: Trump <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/25/01/43065423/donald-trump-to-mention-bitcoin-or-crypto-at-the-inauguration-polymarket-traders-say-theres-a-chance">will be sworn in </a>as the next president of the United States on Monday, marking his second non-consecutive term as the leader of the country.
The stock market will be closed on Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which is a federal holiday.
While investors won't be able to buy and sell stocks that could be mentioned individually or part of sectors that are highlighted during Trump's inauguration speech, the cryptocurrency market will be open.

The poll saw only 7% of readers predict that cryptocurrency would crash on Monday, which could end up being the result of sell the news as cryptos trade higher ahead of Monday.
If Trump announces cryptocurrency related initiatives on Monday, the sector could see strength, but likewise cryptos could fall if he minimizes the sector in his speech.

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Insurers Must Write New Policies If They Want To Do Business In California</h2>
The insurance commissioner is literally holding insurance companies&#8217; feet to the fire. As Realtor.com reported, the moratorium on cancellations follows the commissioner&#8217;s unveiling of a new rule requiring private insurance firms to start writing new policies in high-risk areas if they wanted to keep doing business in California, but with the concession that they would be allowed to pass the costs on to their customers.
As of Wednesday, Jan. 15, the Los Angeles area wildfires had killed at least 25 people, destroyed more than 12,000 structures and charred more than 60 square miles. The largest by far – the Palisades and Eaton wildfires – continue to burn out of control. The fire has come at the worst possible time for homeowners – just months after private insurers canceled 1,600 policies in <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/entertainment/25/01/42933292/wildfires-destroy-celebrity-homes-in-pacific-palisades-paris-hilton-says-the-heartbreak-is-truly-indescribable">Pacific Palisades</a> over high fire risks. At the same time, major <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/money/best-homeowners-insurance">private insurers</a> like State Farm, Nationwide, Farmers Insurance, Allstate, USAA and The Hartford stopped writing new policies in high-risk areas or limited their coverage.

Faced with the prospect of having their homes uninsured, almost half a million Californians were forced to enroll in the Fair Access to Insurance Requirements (FAIR) Plan, the state-sponsored insurer of last resort. According to Reuters, more than 1,400 homes were covered by the FAIR Plan last year in the Palisades neighborhood alone, up 85% from the previous year.
&#8220;One sees relatively low premiums in high-risk markets in California, but that might be starting to change,&#8221; said Philip Mulder, a University of Wisconsin professor who studies the industry.

They use fire-blocking gels, flame retardants and other equipment to protect at-risk buildings. &#8220;The biggest component of making a structure survive a wildfire incident is labor.&#8221;

("First Mining") related to the option agreement (the "Agreement") entered into by Momentum Minerals Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Westward, and First Mining. The Company is currently earning into a 100% ownership position in the Turquoise Canyon Project ("Turquoise Canyon"), based on the Agreement dated August 20, 2019, as amended on August 19, 2020.



As per the Agreement, Westward has elected to pay First Mining C$137,500 in shares, based on the trailing 30-day volume-weighted average price on the CSE. The Company has issued a total of 1,544,944 shares at a deemed price of C$0.089 per share; following the issuance, First Mining will own 2,755,843 shares of Westward, representing approximately 4.0% of the total issued and outstanding shares of the Company.



In order to earn into its 100% ownership position in Turquoise Canyon, Westward must make one final payment on the fourth anniversary of the Agreement (August 20, 2023), for C$137,500 payable in cash or shares at the Company's option. Westward must also complete a total of C$750,000 in qualified exploration expenditures prior to August 20, 2023, with a minimum of C$50,000 in the first year of the Agreement and C$100,000 in the second year, both of which have been satisfied. To date, the Company has spent approximately C$544,000 at Turquoise Canyon. Following completion of the earn-in requirements, First Mining will retain a 2.0% Net Smelter Return Royalty, which can be reduced to 1.0% with a C$1,000,000 cash payment.

Drill Campaign - Overview



In total, the Company completed ~3,850 meters of reverse-circulation drilling across 13 holes and 4 target zones, all of which were outside of the footprint of the historical resource estimate at Toiyabe (~173 koz at 1.2 g Au/t)(1) (the "Historical Estimate"). Drillhole depths ranged from a minimum of 244 meters to a maximum of 349 meters, with an average depth of 296 meters; for comparison, only 16% of all holes identified from previous operators' campaigns(2) reached a depth of +180 meters.

Drill Campaign – Primary Goals & New Theses Tested



The main goals of the Company's first drill campaign at Toiyabe were threefold:

Prove out the lateral extent of mineralization at Toiyabe outside of the Historical Estimate footprint, as a step towards potential future resource expansion (See Figures 2 through 4) 

</li><li>

Test a major deformation zone / blind thrust fault (the "SSD Zone"), identified through relogging of previous drillholes, 3D modeling, and hyperspectral core imaging. Drilling was also designed to test the Company's thesis that the SSD Zone dips to the northeast from its surface expression at the past-producing Toiyabe-Saddle open pits (contrary to legacy modeling) (See Figure 3) 

</li><li>

Test a newly-discovered and previously-undrilled target, the Toiyabe Hills Fault (the "TH Fault"); this important structural feature / fluid pathway may have played a key role in mineral deposition in the area (including at the Toiyabe-Saddle Mine immediately south along the fault trace) (See Figure 4)

</ul>


SSD Zone: The deformation zone was encountered at a depth which suggests the Company's thesis was correct; preliminary modeling shows that the interpreted dip angle (to the northeast) lines up with the few legacy holes drilled deep enough to reach the SSD Zone underneath the Historical Estimate (those intersections were +25 meters wide with grades of +1 g Au/t(2)). This target area also included the deepest hole in Westward's campaign (T2211 – 349 meters; see Figure 2 below), with the technical team making the decision to go deeper than anticipated with holes T2211 and T2210 based on favourable real-time observations; large sections of oxidation, decalcification and intrusive rocks were encountered throughout the length of the holes.



TH Fault: Drilling confirmed the presence of this previously-unknown structural feature, as well as several other structures encountered across the holes in the target zone. Broad zones of decalcification (+15 meters) and intrusive rocks were observed throughout the drilling; surface mapping and drill cuttings confirmed that the TH Fault was a fluid conduit based on the alteration and intrusive rocks.

Next Steps



The Company's technical team has begun its initial post-campaign analyses, which will include logging of all the completed holes, and a fulsome update to the 3D model. Data pertaining to mineralization will be incorporated into the model as assays are received. Along with fire assays / ICP (Au – ICP21) for gold mineralization, ALS Ltd. will also be testing for a full 48-element suite with four acid / ICP-MS (ME-MS61). To Westward's knowledge, this will be the first drill campaign at Toiyabe to do so.
