If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

If you want to rub elbows with some of the most successful people in the United States, Wyoming could be a good choice. Known as the Equality State because it was the first to give women the right to vote, Wyoming is home 3.47 billionaires per 1 million people. They have an average worth of $23.5 billion, according to research conducted by The Digital Project Manager.

Mars Inc. heir John Mars and Christy Walton, who married into the family that founded Walmart, both are from Wyoming.

Because of its sparse population, Wyoming has the highest concentration of billionaires, but if you're looking for the state with the most billionaires within its borders, head farther west to California. The state boasts 21 billionaires among its ranks.

New York has 14 billionaires from the top 100 richest Americans. It's home to wealthy people like Michael Bloomberg, who cofounded the financial information and media company Bloomberg LP and has a net worth of $96.3 billion.

"The U.S. is home to some of the world's wealthiest and most successful people, so it's fascinating to see which states billionaires are making residence in," said Nuala Turner, editor of The Digital Project Manager. "It's interesting to note that despite Wyoming having the lowest population out of all the states, it comes out on top for homing some of the most successful people in the U.S."
