Rihanna took an $85,000 hit on the Los Angeles penthouse she listed for nearly $25 million two months ago.

The 36-year-old pop star paid $21 million for the residence in March 2023 and sold it to an unnamed buyer for just under $20.8 million, according to the Robb Report.

Rihanna purchased the 9,300-square-foot penthouse from Nick Molnar, co-founder of the tech company Afterpay Ltd., who originally wanted $28 million. Molnar bought the unit from the late "Friends" actor Matthew Perry, who paid $20 million in 2017 and conducted extensive renovations.

Los Angeles home prices were up 12.4% compared to the previous year, with a median price of $1 million.

The four-bedroom, seven-bath penthouse spans the entire 40th floor of The Century Building, a 42-story luxury residential tower designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects. Rihanna still owns a smaller condo at The Century, but her main residence is a $14 million mansion in the mountains above Beverly Hills.

The view from the penthouse's four terraces around the residence stretches from downtown Los Angeles across the Santa Monica Mountains to the Pacific Ocean.

The residence includes a soundproof movie theater, a living room with two fireplaces, a formal dining room that seats 25 people and a game room and library with another fireplace. The chef's kitchen, with a pair of marble-topped islands, is equipped with Miele, Wolf and subzero appliances, a wine refrigerator and a breakfast nook. The master suite features a fireside seating area, dual baths and walk-in closets.

The monthly $8,814 homeowners association covers the costs of the building's amenities, including 24-hour concierge and security guards, four deeded parking spots in an underground garage, a wine cellar, a screening room, outdoor swimming pool and gardens access, a gym and fitness studio, a restaurant, conference rooms and storage facilities.

The Barbadian singer has received numerous awards for her work in music, film and fashion, including nine Grammy Awards, 12 Billboard Music Awards, 13 American Music Awards and seven MTV Video Music Awards.

Widely regarded as one of the most prominent recording artists of the 21st century, Rihanna has an estimated net worth of $1.4 billion, making her the world's richest female musician, according to Forbes.
