Mark Cuban, the billionaire entrepreneur and outspoken critic of Donald Trump, has owned a condo in the Trump International Hotel and Tower for almost 25 years – a fact that has come to light recently, thanks to property records obtained by the New York Post. Cuban purchased the 3,700-square-foot luxury apartment in July 2000 for $13.5 million. Despite his public criticisms of Trump, Cuban seems to have held onto this prime piece of New York real estate without much fuss or fanfare.

Don't Miss:

Located on Central Park West, this spacious condo sits on the 45th floor of the building and boasts four bedrooms, six bathrooms and stunning views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline. It also includes a formal dining room, a large living area with floor-to-ceiling windows, a breakfast nook and a private library. One gets a real taste of high-end New York luxury here – not to mention access to amenities like a five-star health club, pool, spa and room service from Michelin-starred Jean-Georges.

The purchase, made under “The Radical Revocable Trust,” a company Cuban oversees, includes access to all the shared luxuries at 1 Central Park West. From valet parking to 24-hour door attendants and concierge services, Cuban’s apartment offers the works. However, it's unclear how often Cuban actually uses the property or enjoys these high-end perks.

Trending: Warren Buffett once said, "If you don't find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until you die." These high-yield real estate notes that pay 7.5% – 9% make earning passive income easier than ever.

Cuban has been open about his dislike for Trump, especially since Trump took office. It's well known that Cuban initially supported Trump's presidential run in 2016, saying that Trump brought something different to politics by not being a “typical candidate.”

However, their relationship soured as Trump's time in office progressed, with Cuban saying that discussions with Trump never worked when they involved details. Despite this, Cuban worked with Trump – notably during the COVID-19 pandemic – because, as he put it, it was about “country over party.”

In recent years, Cuban has turned his support to Vice President Kamala Harris and he's been seen actively campaigning for her. He has even admitted that he hasn't donated to any political campaign since 2001, which adds another layer of irony to the fact that he still owns this Trump Tower apartment.

In a comment to the Daily Mail, Cuban mentioned that the property value has actually dropped significantly since he bought it. While there was once interest in the apartment for $33 million in 2014, by 2018, the best offer he received was less than half of that. This might help explain why he still owns it – he simply hasn't been able to get the price he wants for it.

For someone so publicly at odds with Trump, it’s interesting that Cuban still holds onto a slice of Trump-branded luxury real estate. Perhaps it’s just a savvy business decision or a reminder that sometimes business and politics don’t mix the way people expect.
