A luxurious Miami estate with roots in the legendary Howard Hughes's land holdings has been listed for $55.5 million.
The property, built in 2003, is on land once owned by the eccentric billionaire, who amassed a vast real estate portfolio across the United States. Hughes was a business owner, pilot, aerospace engineer, investor and philanthropist-turned-recluse who was once the world's wealthiest man.
While Hughes, who died in 1976, never developed the 0.86-acre site in the Coconut Grove neighborhood, the estate's connection to the iconic figure adds a layer of intrigue to its appeal.
