As second acts go, Oscar winner Halle Berry is having quite a return to the spotlight. The legendary actor has been on a media blitz promoting the launch of Respin Health, a wellness platform for menopausal women — think Gwyneth Paltrow‘s Goop for older women. In addition, Berry recently enjoyed a No.1 movie on Netflix with Mark Wahlberg, “The Union,” and has a longtime Malibu home to boost her net worth.

Menopause: An Untapped Market

“Sadly, people said to me, ‘Are you sure you want to talk about that? Do you want to align yourself with menopause? Do you worry how that will affect your career?’ And I said, ‘No,'” Berry told People magazine.

Don't Miss:

“And that’s exactly why I should be talking about it because there’s nothing wrong with me being in my midlife. There’s nothing wrong with being 58, and you have to stop telling me there’s something wrong with me,” she said. “And I’m going to prove to you that it’s not. And so women, we have to work together to destigmatize this time of life and change culture.”

Berry’s entry into the $17 billion menopause market could be a prescient move, as celebrities rarely wish to align themselves with older adults. However, with a silver tsunami approaching and the U.S. projected to have more adults aged 50 and older than 18 and younger, the subscription platform addresses menopause through science, community, and tech. A premium service offers personalized health plans for users who share their data. Berry believes the platform’s community feature is one of the keys to its success.

“Community is everything,” Berry told Fortune. “Scientifically, we know that when people can talk to other like-minded people and connect, they have better health outcomes.”

Heavy Hitter Backers

Berry has some heavy hitters in her corner. Respin announced backing from legendary Silicon Valley outfit Khosla Ventures KVSA alongside Night Ventures, Range Media Partners, Precursor Ventures, and Able Partners

“We invest in companies that are bold, early, and impactful and are often the first check into companies,” Samir Kaul, managing director at Khosla and an early investor in OpenAI and DoorDash, told Fortune. “Respin is at the forefront of a major shift in the health and wellness space, creating highly personalized solutions for menopause and wellness that empower women to take control of their well-being.”

Netflix And A Career Resurgence

The Respin promotion and backing come at an opportune time. Berry’s visibility is high following the success of “The Union.” It was part of a multi-picture acting and directing deal she signed with Netflix following the success of 2021’s “Bruised,” in which she starred and directed.

Reliable Revlon

According to multiple websites, Berry has a net worth of around $90 million, largely thanks to her acting career and endorsement deal with Revlon. One of Berry’s most lucrative paydays was for a movie that bombed, 2004's “Catwoman,” for which she reportedly received $14 million.

Multi-Million Dollar Malibu Home

Unlike many celebrities, Berry has no extensive real estate portfolio. Instead, she has a $20 million, 5,083-square-foot contemporary beach house in the guard-gated Malibu Cove Colony neighborhood in Malibu that she purchased in 2004 for $8.5 million. She told The Wall Street Journal in 2023, “I’ve always loved the ocean. My home sits on a beach, but it feels very private because it’s at the end of the cul-de-sac, so there were never any crowds.”
