Before becoming the 45th president of the United States, Donald Trump was known for his dealings in real estate. However, all of his media coverage today is related to politics and a notable development of late is Colorado trying to keep him off the ballot.
Politics aside, many are left wondering if Donald Trump owns any real estate in Colorado as the state tries to keep him off the ballot.
The quick answer is no. Donald Trump's real estate portfolio is impressive, but while he has significant holdings in New York, for example, he does not own anything in Colorado.
Want exposure to Colorado real estate?
If you're looking for exposure to the Colorado real estate market, there are several real estate investment trusts (REITs) with holdings there.
Camden Property Trust CPT is one of the most notable REITs with holdings in Colorado. It owns and operates 172 multifamily properties containing over 58,000 units across the United States, nine of which are in or around Denver, Colorado – Camden RiNo, Camden Belleview Station, Camden Denver West, Camden Lakeway, Camden Caley, Camden Flatirons, Camden Highlands Ridge, Camden Interlocken, and Caden Lincoln Station. It has another Denver property in its development pipeline – Camden Baker.
On top of potential appreciation in its stock, Camden offers investors a quarterly dividend of $1.00 per share, equating to $4.00 per share annually, giving it a yield of approximately 4% at the time of this writing. It has also raised its annual dividend for two consecutive years, and could very well increase it again as its cash flow grows.
