Vint's New Wine Collection Launches At Just A $100 Minimum Investment

High-end wine and spirit investment platform Vint is nearing the close of an investment fund for a 31-bottle fine wine collection from Burgundy, France. The fractional investment platform builds collections of the world's most sought-after, investment-grade wines and spirits and offers fractional shares of the collections to prospective investors.

As an investment vehicle, fine wines have provided an 8.5% return annually over the last 121 years, outpacing most other traded asset classes, according to The London International Vintners Exchange (Liv-ex). Aside from the consistent growth, what makes wine as an investable asset even more attractive is the diversification because of its resiliency during economic downturns.

The 2020 Burgundy Stars collection features bottles widely recognized as part of Burgundy's elite that have been produced by some of the top producers of the region.

According to Liv-ex's Brand Power 100, an annually assembled list tracking the most powerful wine brands, four of the five producers within this collection are listed in the top 30. Wine producer Domaine Armand Rousseau found itself ranked No. 4 on the Brand Power 100 list. The publication The Wine Advocate issued the 2020 vintage a 97-point score, making the collection a top five vintage of the past 15 years.

The supply and demand imbalance of Burgundian wines helps potential investment yields. Over the past decade, Burgundy-produced wines have experienced in a surge in demand causing shortages. The demand coupled with a below-market entry price for a vintage of this quality makes for investor-friendly conditions.
The 2020 Burgundy Stars collection is available to investors on the Vint platform. With the fund offering 1,000 total shares at $100 per share, the collection is valued at $100,000. The estimated holding period is two to five years with a sale expected to take place between 2025 and 2028.
