The ongoing feud between two of the world's most prominent billionaires, Elon Musk and Mark Cuban, took another sharp turn recently. Cuban, known for his role on Shark Tank and extensive business ventures, openly criticized Musk on X (formerly known as Twitter) for his handling of what's considered “truth” on the platform.

Cuban didn't hold back, accusing Musk of creating the most chaos when it comes to determining what's factual on X.
Cuban's Concern
It all started when Elon Musk, who bought Twitter in 2022 and rebranded it as X, posted about the importance of free speech and the dangers of suppressing the truth. Musk wrote, “Freedom of speech is the bedrock of democracy. If the truth is suppressed, it is impossible to make an informed voting decision. The degree to which freedom of speech is being undermined around the world is extremely alarming.”

But Cuban wasn't buying it. He shot back, pointing out that Musk controls how “truths” are amplified or suppressed on the platform. “You do realize that YOU make the decisions on how ‘Truths’ are amplified or suppressed on this platform? That YOU create the most CHAOS when it comes to what is factual or not because YOUR posts get the most amplification?” Cuban wrote on X.
The Ongoing War Of Words
This latest clash is just one of many between the two billionaires. Their public sparring has been going on for months, often filled with personal insults and heated debates over how X is being run under Musk's leadership.

Back in February, Musk took to X to call Cuban an “insufferable tool” after Cuban criticized the platform, calling it a “cesspool for hate.” Cuban, who is Jewish, shared how he often faces racist abuse on X, with some users telling him to “shut the f**k up.” He contrasted X with other social media platforms like Instagram and LinkedIn, saying they're not in the same league regarding user experience.
Musk, always quick to respond, called Cuban a “crybaby” in March 2024 after Cuban pointed out that people on X might hesitate to disagree with Musk because he owns the platform. Cuban fired back with a sarcastic reply, saying, “I love you too, Elon. But not as much as I love myself and probably not as much as you love yourself.”
Their political differences became even more obvious when Cuban publicly supported President Joe Biden for the 2024 elections, leading to more criticism from Musk, who didn't hold back.
