Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang got a first look at Meta’s new AR glasses and was impressed. At the recent Meta Connect event, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, presented a reaction video that included Huang trying on the Orion prototype glasses. “The head tracking is good, the brightness is good, the color contrast is good, the field of view is excellent,” he said, calling the lightweight design “a big deal.”

- General Motors and other leaders revealed to be investing in this revolutionary lithium start-up — allowing easy entry by launching at just $9.50/share with a $1,000 minimum.
- The global games market is projected to generate $272B by the end of the year — for $0.55/share, this VC-backed startup with a 7M+ userbase gives investors easy access to this asset market.
In the video, prominent figures in tech, media and even Olympians expressed excitement over the Orion glasses, describing them as “it’s crazy responsive,” “learning with these will be amazing,” and “it’s so fast.” Overall, the feedback seemed overwhelmingly positive.
These glasses are Meta's first attempt at a full holographic augmented reality device and Zuckerberg called them the “most advanced glasses the world has ever seen.”

Zuckerberg revealed that despite major technical obstacles, the team has worked on these glasses for 10 years. The goal was to create glasses with a wide field of view, that are lightweight and that allow users to see through them clearly – all while integrating cutting-edge technology. The result is a pair of glasses powered by a battery in the arm that bends light to generate realistic holograms of various sizes and depths using tiny projectors.
Even though Orion isn't available to the public yet and there's still work to be done, Meta is letting some external developers get their hands on the prototype. The company is also focusing on refining the design and lowering prices before launching a consumer version.

Given that Nvidia is among the leading businesses in the IT industry, Jensen Huang’s praise is noteworthy. Its GPUs are essential for AI and AR applications and Meta has been a massive client, stockpiling Nvidia’s technology to power its ambitious AI projects. By the end of 2024, Meta expects to have nearly 600,000 GPUs in its arsenal, so Huang's positive feedback carries extra weight.
Huang recently talked about a future where smart digital assistants would be with us throughout our lives, learning and growing alongside us. He's excited about having a computer that gets smarter over time, helping with daily tasks like having your own personal R2-D2 or C-3PO.
“I love the idea that I'll have my own R2-D2, my own C3PO and my R2 will be following me,” he stated, adding, “People who are just growing up now they're going to have their own personal R2 with them.”
