General Motors Company GM has significantly raised the bar in the electric vehicle sector with its 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV Work Truck boasting an EPA-estimated range of 450 miles on a full charge.

This fleet-oriented pickup truck's range surpasses its closest competitor, the Rivian R1T in Quad Motor configuration with Large battery, which offers a range of 328 miles. Chevrolet's engineering team targeted a range of 400 miles for the Silverado EV WT, matching the anticipated range of the upcoming Rivian R1T Dual-Motor AWD with Max Pack battery. Through extensive development and testing, the company has managed to exceed this goal.

As shared by InsideEVs, the Silverado EV WT's impressive range, coupled with its ability to charge at a rate of 350 kW, sets it apart from competitors, including the Ford F-150 Lightning Pro. The latter, even with its Extended Range battery, offers a range of 320 miles.

Chevrolet is also planning to introduce a lower-range variant of the Silverado EV Work Truck, which will offer an estimated range of 350 miles, still significantly more than the 240-mile range offered by the F-150 Lightning Pro equipped with the Standard Range battery.

The Silverado EV WT with a 450-mile range is slated for launch in the spring of 2024, followed by the 350-mile variant. The production of the Silverado EV will begin this fall, with the RST First Edition being the first model to roll out for retail customers.

Here is a comparison table of the longest-range options for each electric truck:

Electric Pickup Truck Longest Range (miles)
Chevrolet Silverado EV Work Truck 450
Rivian R1T (Quad Motor, Large Battery) 328
Ford F-150 Lightning Pro (Extended Range Battery) 320
Rivian R1T (Dual-Motor AWD, Max Pack Battery) 400 (expected)
Ford F-150 Lightning Pro (Standard Range Battery) 240
Tesla Cybertruck Trimotor* 500

*As of the time of writing, the exact range of the Tesla Cybertruck has not been officially confirmed or EPA tested.
