Microsoft Corp. MSFT Blizzard has announced a second Public Test Realm (PTR) for Diablo 4, focusing on Season 5. This follows the first PTR in April, which previewed Season 4.
The Season 5 PTR will be available from June 25 to July 2 for Battle.net PC players. Blizzard’s goal is to test updates and features before Season 5’s official release, using player feedback to make adjustments, balance changes, and fix bugs.

The PTR includes a new questline set after the main storyline, leading into the upcoming expansion, Vessel of Hatred, launching on Oct. 8, 2024. Blizzard teases a story with shifting alliances and emerging unexpected friends.
To trigger this questline, players need to visit Hawezar in World Tier 3, meaning they must have completed the campaign and defeated the Cathedral of Light capstone in World Tier 2.
Completing the new questline unlocks the Infernal Hordes gameplay activity, featuring endless waves of increasingly powerful enemies. This wave-based rogue-lite activity allows players to earn Burning Aether to unlock powerful weapons and rewards.
Additionally, Season 5 introduces new Legendaries, Uniques, and items, along with quality-of-life updates for endgame bosses. While the season’s official name hasn’t been revealed, Diablo 4 Season 5 is set to launch on August 6.
