Thanks to a new scholarship program, women and minority-owned cannabis businesses will have a chance to shine at the upcoming Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference in Chicago.
This initiative, a collaboration between Benzinga and Women Grow, aims to provide these businesses with the opportunity to present their work and connect with industry leaders this October. Here’s what you need to know about the program.
The Women Behind the Mission
Founded in 2014, Women Grow aims to empower women in the cannabis industry through education, networking, and professional development. The organization hosts a wide array of in-person and virtual events, including professional networking gatherings, educational symposiums, and webinars. With a presence in over 35 cities, Women Grow connects women with industry experts and essential resources, fostering a supportive community.
Their mission states, “Women Grow connects, educates, inspires, and empowers the next generation of cannabis leaders through programs, communities, and events.”
Supporting Women and Minority-Owned Businesses
Through its partnership with Women Grow, Benzinga is offering scholarships to help women and minority-owned businesses attend the conference.
“As the CEO of Women Grow, it is imperative that women are empowered by financial solutions. Benzinga has opened the doors of access for our community, and we are ready to drive progress and expansion,” says Chanda Macias, CEO of Women Grow.
Businesses such as Jades Elevation and Pheotera Grove have already benefited from these scholarships. These companies, along with others, will showcase their work at the conference. The scholarship program is ongoing, and more women—and minority-owned businesses are invited to apply.
The Networking Event of the Year
The Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference in Chicago will provide a platform for women and minority-owned businesses to connect with investors and industry leaders, facilitating growth within the industry. By offering these scholarships, Benzinga and Women Grow are supporting the participation of women and minority-owned businesses in the cannabis industry.
