The Alabama Medical Cannabis Association has partnered with the Healthcare Workers' Compensation Fund (HWCF) and Harmon Dennis Bradshaw to provide exclusive workers' compensation benefits to employees of the Alabama medical cannabis industry. The collaboration allows qualified employers affiliated with the state cannabis regulator to join Alabama's healthcare self-insured fund. Starting in January, California will see the implementation of a measure under which employees as well as applicants will be protected from being penalized by their employer for off-the-clock marijuana use.
