Biden's Reelection Hopes Boosted By Youth Support For Weed Reform
A recent nationwide poll revealed that a majority of Americans support President Joe Biden's efforts to relax federal marijuana restrictions. The poll found that 58% of voters favor rescheduling cannabis from Schedule I to Schedule III under the Controlled Substances Act, which aligns with a recent Gallup poll that showed seven out of ten Americans believe marijuana use should be legal. Members of the 18-25 age group, a crucial demographic for Biden's re-election, showed the strongest support for marijuana reform. The poll also found that Democrats showed the highest level of support for cannabis reform, with 74% in favor, followed by 55% of like-minded independents. Republican voters showed the most division on the issue. The poll also revealed that voters' perception of the president increased by 11 points after they were made aware of the consequences of the initiated rescheduling review.
