3 Stocks For New Year's Diets (ARNA, VVUS, OREX)

Everybody has New Year's resolutions that they try to stick to, to try to make themselves better in the new year. The majority of resolutions are to quit smoking, make more money, be better to your friends, and one of the major resolutions is lose weight. A few stocks that could capitalize on the weight loss resolution are Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ARNA, VIVUS, Inc. VVUS and Orexigen Therapeutics, Inc. OREX are a few pharmaceutical companies that can capitalize on this trend. Orexigen recently received a positive recommendation from the FDA Advisory Committee for its Contrave drug, which is used in the treatment of obesity. Vivus has recently submitted its weight loss drug, Qnexa, for marketing approval in the European Union. Arena hopes to get its drug lorcaserin approved sometime in 2011.
