These Candy Companies Aren't Scared By Halloween

  • In a recent video, CNBC took a look at "America’s most popular Halloween candy."

The National Confectioners Association predicted that $2.6 billion dollars would be spent in candy for Halloween in 2015. This translates to roughly $8 for every U.S. citizen. Most of it was spent on chocolate.

Below is a list of the five most popular brands in the U.S.

5) KitKat

According to USA Today, Hershey Co HSY's KitKat’s sales reach $307 million per year.

4) Hershey

Occupying the fourth spot in this list is Hershey’s original Hershey chocolate, which sells approximately $325 million worth of candy each year. This means that, every day, Americans spend almost $1 million on Hershey chocolate bars.

3) Snickers

Privately held Mars is the maker of the third-most popular candy bar in the US: Snickers. The treat's sales surpass $457 million a year, according to USA Today.

2) M&M’s

Holding the second spot on this list is another Mars product, the beloved M&M’s. More than $500 million worth of this candy is sold every year.

1) Reese’s

Americans do love their peanut butter. Thus, it’s no surprise that the most popular candy in the US is none other than the delicious Reese’s. However, the chocolate leads the list only by a small margin: About $510 million worth of Reese’s chocolates are sold every year.
