American Airlines Options Traders Betting On Stock Surging This Much By April Expiration

Airlines stocks outperformed the broader markets, with shares of American Airlines Group Inc AAL recording gains on Thursday.

The company’s stock gained around 24% year-to-date.

On CNBC’s "Options Action," Mike Khouw of Optimize Advisors said American Airlines traded at 2.3x average daily call volume on Thursday.

There was a buyer of 35,000 of the April 17-calls at an average price of $0.64 per contract, Khouw mentioned.

The trader expects American Airlines stock to spike at least 11% by April expiration.

Price Action: American Airlines shares gained 2% to close at $15.87 on Thursday.
