Microsoft, V.F. Corp And More: CNBC's 'Final Trades'

On CNBC’s "Halftime Report Final Trades," Bryn Talkington of Requisite Capital Management named JPMorgan Nasdaq Equity Premium Income ETF JEPQ as her final trade.

Kevin Simpson said Microsoft Corporation MSFT beat on both the top and bottom lines.

Microsoft’s fiscal first-quarter revenue rose 13% year-over-year to $56.5 billion, which beat the consensus estimate of $51.4 billion. The company reported quarterly earnings of $2.99 per share, versus expectations of $2.50 per share.

Analysts have a consensus Buy rating on MSFT, according to Benzinga's analyst ratings data.

Jenny Harrington of Gilman Hill Asset Management picked V.F. Corporation VFC, which has a 7% yield. The company is scheduled to report earnings on Oct. 30, 2023, after market close.

Analysts expect the company to report quarterly earnings at 65 cents per share, down from 73 cents per share in the year-ago period. The company’s revenue might come in at $3.0 billion for the quarter.

Stephen Weiss of Short Hills Capital Partners said he is short on SPDR S&P Homebuilders ETF XHB.

Price Action: Microsoft shares gained 0.6% to close at $329.81, while V.F. Corp shares declined 5.2% to settle at $16.90 on Friday. JPMorgan Nasdaq Equity Premium Income ETF gained 0.6%, while SPDR S&P Homebuilders ETF fell 0.3% during Friday’s session.
