Cerence Inc. CRNC shares saw a boost on Friday following the announcement of an expanded collaboration with NVIDIA Corp NVDA to enhance the capabilities of its CaLLM family of language models.
This includes both the cloud-based Cerence Automotive Large Language Model (CaLLM) and the CaLLM Edge embedded small language model.
Through this partnership, Cerence’s CaLLM models will be powered by Nvidia AI Enterprise, a cloud-native software platform, while CaLLM Edge is supported by Nvidia DRIVE AGX Orin.
This collaboration integrates cutting-edge hardware, software and user experience expertise to accelerate the development and deployment of generative AI in the automotive sector.
Cerence has optimized its models to deliver faster in-vehicle assistant performance, utilizing NVIDIA’s accelerated computing systems and SoCs.

Additionally, the partnership has enabled the development of an automotive-optimized implementation of Nvidia NeMo Guardrails, ensuring Cerence-powered systems handle the nuances of in-car interactions with precision.
The collaboration also advances the next generation of in-vehicle user experiences by implementing agentic architecture via Nvidia’s DRIVE AGX Orin.
Nils Schanz, Cerence’s executive vice president of Product & Technology, emphasized the cost savings and performance improvements this partnership brings to their automaker customers.
