Palantir Technologies, Inc. PLTR stock is trading higher on Wednesday ahead of NVIDIA Corporation NVDA’s earnings report, which is scheduled to be released today after the market closes.
The Details: Nvidia is set to report its 2025 fiscal-year fourth-quarter earnings, with analysts estimating earnings per share of 84 cents and revenue of $38.05 billion.
In its 2025 fiscal-year third-quarter earnings report, the company guided revenue of $37.5 billion, plus or minus 2%, for the fourth-quarter. Nvidia also guided non-GAAP operating expenses of $3.4 billion and a gross margin of 73.5%.
Palantir shares may be trading higher in anticipation of Nvidia’s earnings report as both companies are heavily involved in artificial intelligence (AI) and Nvidia’s earnings may be seen as a barometer for AI sector performance. In addition, positive results from Nvidia could generate broader market optimism, especially for other AI and technology companies.
What Else: AI stocks may be rising following Super Micro Computer, Inc. SMCI filing its earnings reports for the 2024 fiscal-year and the first and second quarters of the 2025 fiscal-year. This comes after Ernst & Young resigned as the company’s financial auditor due to internal control issues, and SMCI hired BDO as its new auditor.
The company has now regained compliance with the NASDAQ listing requirements. This could signal stability and growth potential to investors, which may be lifting sentiment and driving AI sector stock prices higher.
“With our financial reporting now current, we can now fully focus on executing our proven winning growth strategy through technology, product and solution innovations, time-to-market advantage, global footprint, and green computing. We are investing extensively in people and processes across our engineering, sales, finance, accounting, compliance, and operations to achieve our great mission in DLC, Data Center Building Block Solution (Supermicro 4.0) as well as our revenue target,” said Charles Liang, President and CEO of SMCI.
