Darden Restaurants Inc DRI provided a positive update on its partnership with Uber Technologies Inc UBER on Thursday. The company plans to expand its delivery offering following a successful rollout.
What Happened: Darden on Thursday announced that the company and Uber are continuing their partnership through a pilot on-demand delivery rollout at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen.
Darden said Cheddar’s is currently conducting a pilot test in 10 restaurants, allowing guests to order delivery directly through the Cheddar’s website and app for Uber delivery. Following completion of a successful pilot, Cheddar’s plans to deploy the offering more broadly.
“We have developed a strong partnership with the Uber Direct team,” said Chris Chang, chief information officer at Darden Restaurants.
“We learned a lot from the initial pilot at Olive Garden, and that, combined with the success of the full rollout, gave us confidence to quickly move to piloting delivery at Cheddar’s.”

Darden owns a portfolio of restaurant brands including Olive Garden, Cheddar’s, LongHorn Steakhouse, Yard House, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, The Capital Grille, Chuy’s, Seasons 52, Eddie V’s and Bahama Breeze.
Darden reported third-quarter financial results Thursday morning showing 6.2% sales growth driven by growth across all of the company’s reported segments.
Darden guided for full-year 2025 revenue of approximately $12.1 billion versus estimates of $12.092 billion and full-year adjusted earnings of $9.45 to $9.52 per share versus estimates of $9.48 per share, according to Benzinga Pro.
DRI Price Action: Darden Restaurants shares were up 6.91% at $200.93 at the time of publication Thursday, per Benzinga Pro.
