Take A Bite Out Of Apple? (GOOG, AAPL, VZ)

According to an article from Boy Genius Report, the HTC ThunderBolt is actually outselling the Apple AAPL iPhone at Verizon VZ BTIG Research first conducted the report, calling 150 Verizon Wireless stores across the country. The ThunderBolt runs on the Android operating system, which is powered by Google GOOG. According to BTIG Research analyst Walter Piecyk, 61% of stores said the two devices were selling at about the same rate, 11% said the iPhone 4 was selling faster and 28% said more ThunderBolts were being sold than iPhones. If this is true, this could be a hit for Apple, and traders may want to consider shorting shares for a short term blip, until we can get more clarity on this issue, when Apple releases quarterly results later in the month.
