Knight Transportation Reports Q1 EPS $0.12 vs. $0.16 Estimate (KNX)

Knight Transportation KNX, one of North America's largest truckload transportation companies, reported revenue and earnings for the first quarter ended March 31, 2011. For the quarter, total revenue increased 12.5% to $186.5 million from $165.7 million for the same quarter of 2010. Revenue before fuel surcharge increased 7.3% to $150.5 million compared to $140.3 million in the first quarter of 2010. Net income decreased to $9.9 million in the first quarter from $12.3 million for the same quarter of 2010 and net income per diluted share was $0.12, compared to $0.15 for the same quarter of 2010.
