Earnings Report For Johnson Controls (JCI)

Analysts expect Johnson Controls JCI to report $0.55 earnings per share for Q1 2011 on Monday before the markets open. Ninety days ago, the expectations were reduced by $0.02 but have since been stable. Johnson Controls reported the same EPS of $0.55 in the previous quarter, while the equivalent value a year ago was $0.43. Johnson Controls is a Milwaukee-based company providing automotive interiors. For buildings, the company offers products and services that optimize energy use. It also provides batteries for automobiles and hybrid electric vehicles, along with related systems engineering, marketing and service expertise. It is one of Fortune 500 companies with 142,000 employees. Johnson Controls was founded in 1885 by Professor Warren S. Johnson, inventor of the first electric room thermostat. S&P currently gives Johnson Controls a positive 5 STARS (out of 5) Strong Buy ranking. The EPS results below expectations might force S&P to consider reducing a star or two. Johnson's shares were constantly falling in April before gaining some ground yesterday, following announcement that Johnson Controls will be supplying the complete battery system for two electric vehicle platforms, which will be developed by Beijing Electric Vehicle Company, a subsidiary of Beijing Automotive Industry Company.
