Dahlman Rose raised its Norfolk Southern NSC price target from $76 to $84 in a research report published today. Dahlman Rose has previously given Norfolk Southern a Buy rating.
In the report, Dahlman Rose states, "Norfolk Southern ramped hiring in 4Q10 and 1Q11 and should be well-positioned as freight grows in 2011. Indeed, we expect Norfolk Southern to see nice growth in intermodal, export coal and metals in 2011. We believe the benefits of the aforementioned hiring pick-up will begin to show by 3Q11."
Shares of Norfolk Southern were trading at $73.12 at the time of posting, up 6.88% from Wednesday's market close.
