There are many unusual names on the Internet. Most of them don't mean a thing. But when Zaarly.com co-founder Bo Fishback started the site, the name was chosen for a very good reason.
“Zaarly is a derivation on the word bazaar, like a Turkish or Moroccan bazaar where you go and everything is for sale,” Fishback told Benzinga during a recent interview. “If you've ever been to one of these places – they sell rugs, but if you walk up and tell them you want to buy their sandals, you're in negotiation immediately.”
“So this idea that everything does have a price and enabling efficient markets where people can name their price and get the things they want,” Fishback added. “And it's a cute name, Zaarly, we can get the URLs. And the reason it has two As is because it's a derivation of the word bazaar.”
