Grainger April Daily Sales up 14%

Grainger GWW today reported sales results for the month of April 2011. Daily sales increased 14 percent versus April 2010. Results for the month included a 1 percentage point positive contribution from acquisitions and a 1 percentage point contribution from foreign exchange. Excluding acquisitions and foreign exchange, organic sales increased 12 percent, including 10 percentage points from volume and 2 percentage points from price. April 2011 had 21 selling days, one less than April 2010. The 2011 second quarter will have the same number of selling days as the 2010 second quarter.
