Goldman Sachs Shareholders Stung In 2011 (GS)

Goldman Sachs GS has been one of the worst performing financial stocks of 2011, falling almost 17% since the beginning of the year. Things have gotten even worse more recently, as the stock has shed around 10% in just the last month. On Tuesday, GS has lost 0.28% and is trading at $140.20. On May 3, Senators Carl Levin and Tom Coburn requested that the SEC and DOJ look into whether or not Goldman CEO Lloyd Blankfein perjured himself during testimony in front of Levin's committee last year. The Senators want to determine if Goldman violated the law by trading against its clients and whether or not Blankfein lied about this during his testimony.
