Autodesk Trades Higher on Q1 Results (ADSK)

Shares of Autodesk Inc. ADSK are trading higher in the after-hours trade following the release of the company's Q1 earnings results. Currently, shares are higher by 0.35%, trading at $44.54; they closed the regular session higher by 0.25%, at $44.39. Autodesk said that Q1 EPS was $0.40 on revenues of 528 million; the Street was looking for $0.37 per share on revenues of $523.2 million. The company also issued in-line guidance for Q2 and upside guidance for FY 2012, saying it sees FY 2012 revenues up 12% year over year, at $2.19-2.17 billion. "Strong demand for manufacturing, horizontal design products, suites, and animation products, led to solid growth in the quarter," said Carl Bass, Autodesk president and CEO. "We launched our 2012 product line this quarter, including the new family of design and creation suites, and are pleased with the initial feedback we're hearing from our partners and customers. The first quarter was a solid start to our fiscal 2012 and we look to build on our momentum through the year." Autodesk, Inc. is a design software and services company. The company serves customers in the architecture, engineering and construction, manufacturing, and digital media and entertainment industries.
