Stocks Pare Losses but Remain Pressured

(TheStreet) -- Stocks were holding mild losses Monday, weighed down by financial and energy stocks, as investors continue to question the strength of the global economic recovery. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down by 13 points, or 0.1%, at 12,138. The S&P 500 was lower by 5 points, or 0.4%, at 1296, and the Nasdaq was off by 8 points, or 0.3%, at 2725. Shares across the financial sector weakened after Rochdale Securities analyst Dick Bove cut his rating on Wells Fargo WFC to sell from neutral, citing the economic slowdown and a decline in operational earnings.
