Hill International Awarded Two Contracts to Manage Rehabilitation of Water and Wastewater Systems in Romania

Hill International HIL announced today that it has received two contracts to manage the rehabilitation of water and wastewater infrastructure systems in Alba and Braila counties in Romania. The two contracts, from S.C. Apa CTTA S.A. Alba and Dunarea Braila Public Utility Company, have an estimated total value to Hill of approximately €4.2 million ($6.1 million). Only 52% of the Romanian population is connected to both water and wastewater systems and more than 71% of wastewater is not treated or is inadequately treated. After becoming a member of the European Union, Romania must comply with European Directive 98/83/EC which sets drinking water quality standards. "We are proud to be a part of such an important public initiative," said Raouf S. Ghali, President of Hill's Project Management Group (International). "These programs will have a significant impact on the region's water quality and help the country comply with the European Directive," Ghali added.
