SkyWest Reports Combined May Departures for SkyWest Airlines, Atlantic Southeast Airlines, and ExpressJet Airlines up 49.6%

SkyWest, Inc., SKYW reported a 49.6 percent increase in departures to 118,078 for May compared to 78,943 for the same period last year. Passenger boardings for May increased 53.0 percent to 4,883,414 compared to 3,192,484 for the same period last year. SkyWest also reported a 60.8 percent increase in revenue passenger miles for May, while available seat miles increased 57.4 percent compared to May 2010. The combined airlines generated 2.53 billion RPMs for the month, while ASMs increased to 3.11 billion. Load factor was 81.4 percent compared to 79.7 percent, up 1.7 percentage points compared to May 2010. The substantial increases for each of the items are due primarily to the acquisition of ExpressJet Airlines on November 12, 2010.
