J.P. Morgan is recapping AmerisourceBergen Corporation's ABC recent conference call.
“We've discussed with each of the drug wholesalers UnitedHealth's UNH pilot program designed to change the incentive structure for oncologists from a ‘buy-and-bill' model of drug administration to reimbursement based on cognitive patient care,” J.P. Morgan writes.
“ABC provided an interesting perspective on that program in that mgmt felt it would be impractical for physicians to segregate drug inventories by payors; as such, ABC does not believe the market will move away from the current model as long as oncologists can demonstrate reasonable drug utilization.”
AmerisourceBergen closed Wednesday at $49.35.
