Ventas Prevails in HCP Rehearing Petition

Ventas, Inc. VTR said today that the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit has denied HCP, Inc.'s request to reconsider the Court's unanimous affirmation of the $101.6 million jury verdict in Ventas's favor in the Company's lawsuit against HCP and the Court's unanimous decision that Ventas is entitled to seek punitive damages against HCP for its conduct. The denial of HCP's rehearing petition makes final the Court's May 17, 2011 decision. “We are gratified that the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit has reconfirmed its decision in Ventas's favor,” Ventas Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Debra A. Cafaro said.
