PROVO, Utah, Aug. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Provo College received reaffirmation of accreditation for its Physical Therapist Assistant Associate Degree program by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).

Founded in 1977, The Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education, 1111 North Fairfax Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314; accreditation@apta.org; (703) 684-2782 or (703) 706-3245, is the only accreditation agency recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) to accredit entry-level physical therapist and physical therapist assistant education programs.

The CAPTE accreditation team conducted its assessment December 3-6, 2017, meeting with faculty, staff, students, alumni, clinical education partners, and administration. The Physical Therapist Assistant program received official notification August 8, 2018 that its accreditation has been extended for another ten years.  In the Summary of Action letter the Commission specifically noted Student Achievement for the program with the 2016-2017 reporting period having an 87.2% graduation rate (2015 and 2016 cohorts), a licensure examination pass rate of 100% (2015 and 2016 cohorts) and an employment rate for 2016-2017 graduates at 100%.
