PPG to produce 100,000 gallons of hand sanitizer for Home Depot employees

DELAWARE, Ohio, April 20, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- PPG is partnering with a customer to support the health and wellbeing of employees at The Home Depot during the COVID-19 pandemic.

PPG's coatings plant in Delaware, Ohio, where Matthews Paint is manufactured, will produce 100,000 gallons of hand sanitizer. The formula follows guidelines issued by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the production of hand sanitizers and utilizes a formula consistent with World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations. Currently, the hand sanitizer will support PPG customer and employee needs and will not be made available for sale to the general public.

PPG will ship 50 gallons to all 1,900 Home Depot stores in the United States to help employees and customers practice hygiene measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The team will also manufacture and send hand sanitizer to all U.S. manufacturing and distribution facilities for all business units.
