Apple Inc. AAPL shares have lost some of their sheen during the recent tech-induced sell-off, but today's announcement concerning its next event did generate a lot of excitement.
Apple Event Creates Buzz: Apple put out an invite for a virtual Apple Event to be held at 10 a.m. PT on Sept. 15, 2020.
Ahead of the company's confirmation, the hashtag #appleevent began trending on Twitter, and the coding of the tag suggested it's to end in a few weeks.

Hashflag Browser, a website displaying information on current hashflags, showed the new Apple emoji that was used in the Twitter trend is dated between Sept. 8 and Sept. 28, giving rise to rampant speculation a product reveal could be in the offing.
The blue color of the emoji also led to speculation that the new product(s) could sport the same color.
iPhone 12 Launch Imminent? Apple could reveal the new iPad and Apple Watch Series 6, the Macworld reported. It won't come as a surprise if Apple unveils its iPhone 12 on Sept. 15, although online availability for sale could come later.
The company is also working on several products, including a new Apple TV, a new HomePod, new AirPods and an Apple Silicon MacBook, Macworld said. Any of these products could make an appearance at the event.
I am told Apple won’t announce the iPhone until October. This is for the iPad and Apple Watch in all likelihood. https://t.co/pw1oVXVoaL

After Apple flagged a potential delay in its iPhone 12 launch in its fiscal year third-quarter earnings call, Digitimes had reported the newest version of its flagship product could be released in phases.
All four models are expected to be 5G-enabled, with the higher end 6.1-inch model likely making its appearance ahead of the rest.
