Jefferies Previews Q2 Earnings In Chemicals Sector

Jefferies expects companies in the Chemicals sector to report mostly in line results for Q2, according to its report previewing quarterly results in the industry. In the report, Jefferies states, “Q2 (June) earnings are likely to be roughly in line with expectations, but we expect outlooks to remain cautious as raw material volatility and sovereign risk offset improving order books, a weaker dollar, a favorable pricing environment and possibly even briefer August shutdowns than normal.” Jefferies cites Huntsman Corp. HUN and W.R. Grace & Co. GRA as two stocks poised for the most positive earnings call. HUN closed at $19.02 yesterday and GRA at $45.97.
