First BanCorp Announces Special Meeting of Stockholders

First BanCorp FBP, the bank holding company for FirstBank Puerto Rico, announces that a special meeting of the holders of the Corporation's common stock will be held at the Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel & Casino, 22 Convention Blvd., San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at 10:00 a.m.. At the Special Meeting, stockholders will be asked to approve the issuance of shares of Common Stock to institutional investors in connection with the previously announced capital raise.
