UPDATE: Sempra Energy Reports Rise In Q2 Profit

Sempra Energy SRE reported a rise in its second-quarter earnings. Sempra Energy reported its quarterly profit at $511 million, or $2.12 per share, up from $222 million, or $0.89 per share, in the year-earlier period. Its revenue rose 21% y/y to $2.42 billion. Its adjusted earnings came in at $0.97 share. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.98 per share on revenue of $2.18 billion. Sempra Energy shares gained 0.48% to close at $45.81 yesterday.
