Lantern To Launch Adult-Use Delivery In Colorado: What Cannabis Investors Need To Know

Lantern, an e-commerce marketplace and home delivery platform and subsidiary of Drizly Group, is set to be the first to provide adult-use cannabis delivery in Colorado at the beginning of 2021.

Drizly Group is known as one of the biggest online marketplace and delivery services for alcohol in the U.S.

The first residents to utilize Lantern’s services in Colorado, will be residents of Aurora, which Monday voted in favor of recreational delivery.

The Centennial State has approved both medical and adult-use cannabis delivery, but according to law, individual municipalities must choose it as well.

Residents of Boulder, Longmont and Superior have already been enjoying medical cannabis deliveries.

"Colorado consumers have been waiting for nearly two years for recreational delivery to come online and Lantern is eager to offer our best-in-class services to eager customers," Lantern President Meredith Mahoney said in a statement.

"Our sister company, Drizly, has already built an outstanding following and reputation in the state and we are confident that Lantern will apply these same market insights to provide timely and reliable cannabis deliveries throughout the state."

Upon Aurora’s municipal law taking effect, adult cannabis users can make an online cannabis order at Lantern’s website and expect to receive their products within one hour. The company will collaborate with local dispensaries.
