Gilford Securities maintained its Monsanto MON Sell rating in a research report published today.
In the report, Gilford Securities states, "Our issue [with Monsanto] is more micro, more company-specific. That is, Monsanto's position within its industry peaked a couple of years ago. In fact, its calendar 2009 EPS of $3.79 could be hard for the company to regain, possibly ever, as its competitive advantage continues to slip; the environment becomes less favorable, especially in corn; and its pipeline stagnates."
Shares of Monsanto were trading at $69.21 at the time of posting, down 0.37% from Tuesday's market close.
