J. C. Penney Company August Comparable Store Sales -1.9%

J. C. Penney Company, Inc. JCP reported today that its comparable store sales for the four-week period ended Aug. 27, 2011, decreased 1.9 percent compared to a 2.3 percent increase in the same period last year. Total Company sales decreased 4.5 percent for the month.
