DuPont now projects full-year adjusted earnings of $3.97 to $4.05 per share. 3M Company MMM reported a drop in its third-quarter profit. 3M's quarterly profit fell to $1.09 billion, or $1.54 per share, from $1.12 billion, or $1.55 per share, in the year-earlier period. Its sales surged to $7.53 billion, from $6.87 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $1.61 per share on sales of $7.78 billion. 3M projects adjusted 2011 profit of $6.07 to $6.17 per share, versus analysts' estimates of $6.16 per share. 3M cut it 2011 sales growth forecast to 3% to 4%, from its prior forecast of 6% to 7.5%. Reynolds American Inc RAI reported a drop in its third-quarter profit. Reynolds American's quarterly profit declined to $367 million, or $0.63 per share, from $381 million, or $0.65 per share, in the year-ago quarter. Earnings certain costs, Reynolds American's earnings came in at $0.70 per share. Its revenue dropped 1.7% to $2.2 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.73 per share on revenue of $2.16 billion. Delta Air Lines Inc DAL reported a rise in its third-quarter earnings. Delta Air Lines' quarterly earnings gained to $549 million, or $0.65 per share, from $366 million, or $0.43 per share, in the year-earlier period. Its revenue climbed to $9.82 billion from $8.95 billion. On an adjusted basis, Delta Air Lines earned $0.91 per share. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.94 per share. T. Rowe Price Group Inc TROW reported a 9.7% rise in its third-quarter earnings. T. Rowe reported its quarterly profit at $185.5 million, or $0.71 per share, up from $169.1 million, or $0.64 per share, in the year-ago period. Its net revenue climbed 16% to $679.4 million. However, analysts were projecting earnings of $0.73 per share on revenue of $692 million. Simon Property Group Inc SPG reported a 19% rise in its third-quarter earnings. Office Depot Inc ODP reported a rise in its third-quarter profit. Office Depot reported its quarterly profit at $100.9 million, versus a year-ago profit of $41.3 million. After preferred dividends payment, the company's earnings came in at $0.28 per share. Excluding the tax benefit and other charges, the company's per-share loss was less than a penny. Its revenue dropped 2.2% to $2.84 billion. However, analysts were expecting a penny per-share profit on revenue of $2.89 billion. United States Steel Corp X swung to a Q3 profit on Tuesday. Its revenue climbed 33% to $3.37 billion, versus analysts' estimates of $3.32 billion. India's Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd reported a 7.3% rise in its Q2 consolidated net profit. Volvo's net profit in the three months to September 30 rose to 3.83 billion kronor ($583 million), from SEK2.81 billion. Its revenue gained 15% to SEK73.32 billion. Volvo's operating profit surged to SEK5.77 billion, from SEK4.91 billion and truck orders gained 18% to 59,975 units. Novartis AG NVS reported a 7.9% rise in its Q3 net profit. Novartis' quarterly net profit climbed to $2.46 billion, from $2.28 billion, in the year-ago period, versus analysts' estimates of $2.81 billion. Its revenue gained 18% to $14.84 billion, from $12.58 billion, versus analysts' forecast of $14.8 billion. BP Plc BP reported a strong rise in its third-quarter net income. BP reported its quarterly profit at $4.91 billion, or $1.55 per American depositary share, up from $1.79 billion, or $0.57 per ADS, in the year-ago quarter. Its replacement-cost profit came in at $5.14 billion, or $1.63 per ADS. BP's adjusted replacement-cost profit came in at $5.3 billion. BP's revenue climbed 31% to $97.6 billion from $74.65 billion.
