Blueshift Ideas is out with a series of WTW is a name that really stands to benefit from this.
In last week's research report, Blueshift noted that Weight Watchers could expand, as the UK government has a sponsored enrollment plan. The research firm notes that this could lead to an expansion in enrollment for Weight Watcher's U.K. program in the next two to three years.
Blueshift, based out of San Francisco, notes, "The National Health Service (NHS) is considering offering free Weight Watchers memberships to overweight and obese UK patients." One source from the NHS said the government agency is considering "providing franchise start-up [money] for commercial weight-loss programs in underserved parts of UK." Blueshift also found that 23 of 29 sources it spoke with think membership in commercial weight-loss programs will continue to grow, as it is seen as a quick fix, and the high obesity rates in the U.S., as well as the U.K.
At last check, shares of Weight Watchers were up $2.42 to $74.37, a gain of 3.36%.
