Metals Mixed, Silver Jumping

Silver is leading the metals sector this morning, in this Tuesday edition of the Metals Morning Update. Gold is gaining $6 an ounce, to trade at $1,784.00. This comes on fears of additional quantitative easing by central banks around the world, as well as fresh fears that the European banks aren't as strong as previously thought. Shares of SPDR Gold Trust ETF GLD are up 26 cents, to trade at $173.46. Copper is slightly higher this morning, gaining .007 5 cents to trade at $3.495 per pound. Shares of Ipath Dow Jones Ubs Copper Total ETF JJC are gaining ground this morning, up 4 cents to trade at $45.18. Silver is jumping today, up 62 cents to trade at $34.64 an ounce. Despite the loss in the actual metal, shares of the iShares Silver Trust ETF SLV are positive on the day, gaining 38 cents to trade at $33.71. Palladium is down $2.05 an ounce at $662.25 per ounce, a loss of 0.3%. The Etfs Physical Palladium Shares ETF PALL is lower by 27 cents today, to trade at $65.37. Platinum is losing ground, losing 0.1% or $1.60 to trade at $1,642.50 per ounce. ETFS Physical Platinum Shares PPLT is losing 43 cents this morning, to trade at $162.03.
